Ramadan: Gov Bala’s Wife Asks Muslims To Pray For Peace, Prosperity

Hajiya Mariam Bala Abdulkadir, the wife of Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed of Bauchi State, has demanded fervent prayers for peaceful coexistence in the state from Muslim faithful as they begin this year’s Ramadan fast.

Hajiya Mariam stated this in a statement to commemorate the entire Muslim ummah in the state on the successful commencement of this year’s Ramadan fast.

She said that even though Bauchi State is in the Northeast, a region ravaged by insurgency in the past, it still enjoys a stable peaceful atmosphere which must be sustained through intensive prayers for peace to continue to prevail in the state, Northeast, and Nigeria as a whole.

“All human activities are tight to peace. Socio-economic progress can only thrive in an atmosphere of peace to open up ways for a rise in the standard of living of the people.

“It is pertinent for us to sustain prayers for peace in Bauchi and Nigeria as a whole amid growing incidences of kidnapping, banditry, and other forms of criminalities that add to the flare of insecurity trends in the country.”

Hajiya Mariam added that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed’s strategic and no-nonsense handling of security-related matters coupled with the support of relevant security outposts operating in the state, Bauchi is able to achieve a comfort zone status in the Northeast.

She said that the attendant effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on earnings of the nation as well as states are very noticeable and disturbing.

Hajiya Mariam explained that with the current trends of inflation in Nigerian markets, citizens need to offer special prayers for a special intervention from Allah to change the situation.

“Let us use the rare yearly opportunity available in the holy month, Ramadan, to make supplications for peace and economic development in our state and the country at large,” she said.

Hajiya Mariam wished Muslims in the state a hitch-free and reward full Ramadan fast
