Remains of late NAN Director, Ajudua, laid to rest in Okpanam, Delta

The remains of Engr. Mathias Ajudua, the Executive Director (Technical) News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) was on Saturday, laid to rest in his family compound, Okpanam, Delta.

The internment was preceded by a church service, officiated by SUP. Evang. Balogun Abayomi of the Celestial Church of Christ, Asaba.

In a sermon, Abayomi reminded the congregation  that death was a necessary end for the living.

He also urged the congregation to live a worthy life in order to make heaven.

Many people, including staff of the agency, members of the Nigeria Society of Engineers and family members paid tributes to late Ajudua.

Son of the deceased, David Ajudua, said he would ever remain proud of his father, describing him as a pillar, mover and enabler, who had during his life time, positively impacted on many people, supported and shared in their grief.

Also, Ms Ese Ekama, Senior Editor, NAN, recounted her relationship with Ajudua, describing him as a boss who cared for all.

On his part, Mr Abdulhadi Khaliel, Director, Administration and Human Resources, NAN, who led NAN delegation to the burial, glorified God for Ajudua’s life.

“We were colleagues; he was a brother and we had been very close. We had a job we were doing before the unfortunate thing happened.

“Well, it has happened and it is part of life which everyone will experience, though his passage was painful,” he said.

NAN family from Abuja, Lagos, Enugu Asaba and other parts of the country were in attendance to bid late Ajudua farewell.

Ajudua who was lowered to mother earth “dust at about 2:00 p.m. by the members of his church, died on May 10 in Abuja after a brief illnesses.
