An expert in the Leisure and Tourism sector, Malam Aliyu Audu Fada has stressed the need for the incoming administration in Bauchi State to develop and improve the sector as part measures to generate highest revenue to the state.
The expert, who is the Head of Leisure and Tourism Department, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi observed that Bauchi State was blessed with abundant tourism products and services that can enhance the economic system of the state.
According to him, tourism is one of the viable industry globally where many countries of the world depend on it as part of efforts to revamp their economy.
He said for the incoming administration of Senator Bala Muhammad to deliver on its campaign promises effectively, the need for prioritizing leisure and tourism sector by providing the required facilities became necessary.
He suggested for the engagement of experts who can use their expertise to provide the required services so as to ensure massive patronage of the sector by foreign and local tourists and visitors.
“Ours in the Tourism sector is retention of customers and you can’t retent somebody if you didn’t give him proper services, as quality of services determined the retention of customers”. Audu Fada pointed out.
The tourism expert requested the incoming governor to ensure all the tourism sites in the state notably Yankari Safari and Sumu Wildlife Park meet International standards in view of the importance of the sector to economic diversification.
Most of the problems facing our tourism attraction sites in Bauchi State is due to lack of qualified manpower who have the skills of providing effective services to customers despite the huge resources invested in some of the sites. He attributed.
On the declaration of Bauchi State to become among the Oil producing states in the country, Malam Aliyu Audu Fada appealed to the Governor elect to commit resources in tourism sector for national and international investors.
