Secondus: Supreme Court Okays Service Of Papers On PDP Secretariat

The Supreme Court has granted leave to the suspended national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Uche Secondus, to serve court processes on the party through the national headquarters in Abuja.

A five-member panel of justices presided by Justice Musa Dattijo Mohammed, on Tuesday, ruled in favour of the ex parte application seeking service by substituted means after listening to the arguments of the lawyer to Secondus.

The panel is expected to fix a date for hearing after receiving the report of service to the respondents who included Ibeawuchi Ernest Alex, Dennis Nna Amadi, Emmanuel Stephen, Umezurike Onuoha, Godwin Pepple Manfred, PDP, Senator Suleiman Nazif, Orbih, Hon Solomon Ejike Ogbonna, Hon Uche Emmanuel Minukwa and Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu.

Secondus had further appealed his August 22 suspension after the Court of Appeal on October 26 dismissed his suit.

He is asking the apex court to nullify his removal from office on the grounds that the PDP acted unlawfully by removing him based on his purported suspension by his ward.
