A 300 level student of the department of Public Health, Bauchi State University, Gadau, Shamsuddeen Yahaya Gakaka was reportedly killed as a result of snake bite.
The deceased who was bitten by a poisonous snake on his way to fetch water close to the school premises was rushed to the school clinic, but died few hours afterwards.
The University’s Public Relations Officer, Isa Suleiman confirmed the incident in a telephone conversation.
“When the incident happened, he was referred to Federal Medical Centre Azare, but unfortunately he died few hours later”, Isa Suleiman said.
WikkiTimes reports that Shamsuddeen hails from Alkaleri LGA of Bauchi state and was the President, Alkaleri/Kirfi Students’ Association.
