Bauchi State Governor, Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed has on Friday, met behind closed doors with former Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara and other members representing various constituencies of the state at the National Assembly to discuss areas of partnerships and collaboration for the development of the state.
Speaking with newsmen shortly after the meeting held at Summerset Continental Hotel in Abuja, Governor Bala said the meeting was to discuss on the need for synergy and cooperation between the two arms of the government.
Bala Mohammed who appealed to the members to use their positions to bring projects that will have positive impact on the lives of the citizens of the state, also expressed gratitude to the lawmakers for resolving to work in synergy with his administration.
He called on the people of the state regardless of their political differences to join hands with the two bodies for the speedy development of the state, adding that the time for partisan politics is over.
The Senator representing Bauchi Central, Senator Halliru Dauda Jika who spoke on behalf of the Senators, reaffirmed their commitment towards supporting the governor to overcome the challenges affecting the progress and development of the state.
On his past, the immediate past Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara while applauding Governor Bala Mohammed for coming up with the initiative, said the members have resolved to support him irrespective of their political differences so as to execute his developmental programmes
