Sufi Islamic Scholars Converge On Bauchi To Celebrate Earlier Postponed Maulud

Sufi Islamic Islamic Scholars of Tijjaniyaah extraction and their followers have converged on Bauchi to celebrate weeklong Maulud that was earlier postponed due to the threat posed by Coronavirus Pandemic.

Muhammadu Buhari lafiya National President of Hilaquzzikri from Nasarawa state in an interview with journalists during the opening ceremony of the event said the weeklong ‘Sheik DAHIRU Bauchi Malud’ in Bauchi was scheduled to honour the life and legacies of prominent Sufi Scholars such as Ahmadu Tijjani and Nyas.

He said the Malud was scheduled to offer prayers on national issues and to strengthen the Muslims ummah.

The scholar said the combined Malud was organized to honour the Grand Son of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani and Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass who dedicated their life towards the services of Islam and Muslims.

“Whoever did a Good thing should be commended and remembered for the two Scholars’ lives and their exemplary life which is filled with fear of God.

The Scholar also urged security agencies to be accommodative to visitors coming in from other countries to attend the one weeklong Malud.

Also speaking, Sheik Aliyu Seyeddi Bauchi said the programme was to improve relationships among Tijjaniyyah adherents across the globe and immortalize the late Islamic Scholars.

“The essence of the celebration is to further cement the existing mutual relationship of the adherents of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani all over the world,

“To immortalize and commemorate the legacy and teachings of the two Sheikhs and to pray for peaceful co-existence of the entire nation”, he said

He said the prominent personalities expected at the grand Maulud celebration on Saturday include Islamic, clerics from Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania, United States of America, Mali Egypt Senegal Sudan Ghana, Cameroon, Niger, and Europe.

 “President Muhammadu Buhari will be a distinguished Guest of Honour, Sheikh Muhamad Mahiy NYass Grand Kalifah of Faydah is the Special Guest of Honour.

“While Governor Bala Mohammed will be the Chief Host, Sultan of Sokoto Alhaji Muhammad Saad  Abubakar Emirs of Ilorin Kano, Gombe, Bauchi are the Royal Fathers of the day,” He said.
