UPDATE: Police Inaugurate C’ttee To Investigate Minor’s Murder In Bauchi

Auwal Musa Muhammad, Commissioner of Police Bauchi Command has constituted a fact-finding committee to identify and arrest suspects behind the horrendous murder of Muhammad Abiden, an 18-month-old baby.

Abiden was found dead after he went missing when his mother went to a Bauchi-based private NCE awarding institution for lectures. His body was dumped beside a soak-away pit without some organs allegedly removed by yet-to-be-identified persons.

WikkiTimes reports that Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed ordered the immediate closure of the school. He also directed security agencies in the state to identify and prosecute the suspects responsible for the awful act.

The Commissioner of Police in a statement signed by the Spokesperson of the Command, SP Ahmed Mohammed Wakil said the committee will be headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Yakubu Mohammed.

“The Command has constituted an investigative committee headed by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), DCP Yakubu Mohammed to thoroughly investigate the circumstances surrounding the murder of the boy and fish out whoever is directly or indirectly connected to this act and charge to court.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the toddler (victim) Muhammad Abideen ‘m’ aged 18 months was with his mother, Saudatu Abideen ‘f’ aged 21yrs of Bakin Kura area of Bauchi,” the statement read in part.

Musa appealed to the general public to be calm as the Command is already tracking those suspected to be responsible for the gruesome murder of a baby boy in Bauchi and promised to leave no stone unturned until the victim gets justice.
