The Bauchi state Chapter of the People’s Democratic Party,PDP, has revealed that the people of Bauchi state collectively sacked
ex-governor Abubakar because he served for four years as a tenant who could notrepair the state.The state party’s Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam who made therevelation during a media chat organised by the state governor to celebrate hisfirst 100 days in office on Saturday said that the PDP was careful enough toexpose the incompetence of the immediate past Governor Abubakar to the peopleof the state.
According to Akuyam, the idea was to enable the people ofBauchi state to determine whether they can vote for ex-governor to continue toruin the fortunes of the state or vote for Bala Mohammed to restore its lostglory.
The PDP chairman maintained that the ability of his party toselect the rightful candidate, expose what he termed, “cluelessness andineptness of the former Governor Abubakar were some of the secret behind thedefeat of the All Progressives Congress APC led administration in the 2019gubernatorial election in the state.”
“Now, the people of Bauchi know that there is adifference between a tenant and the landlord. “A tenant does not repair thehouse he is renting. “The former Governor was a tenant, so, he could not workfor the progress of Bauchi because he was a tenant, so we brought in the son ofthe soil and drove him out so that the people of Bauchi will have relief.”The party chief said.
“The first thing we did was, we allowed delegates tofreely choose among the contestants, the PDP did not impose any candidate onthe people, so the people were able to select Bala Mohammed to be thecandidate of the party going by his charisma and vast experience inpolitics.” The PDP Chairman Said.
Akuyam added that, “because the then senator Bala wasproved to be a straight forward person and was so committed to winning theelection, and we were able to vote out the inept government who were cluelessbecause we were able to expose them to the public to see and they made theirchoice through the ballots.”
