The Zamfara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps(NSCDC) has restated its commitment to return all recovered rustled animals to their rightful owners in addition to making concerted efforts to nip in the bud, the menace of cattle rustling.
Sani Mustapha, the Commandant of the Corps in the state, said it they are ever ready to support the state government in its efforts to ensure timely return of all recovered rustled animals, noting that the constitution of a committee to manage rustled animals by the state government is timely.
Mustapha who hosted the committee members in his office at the Command’s headquarters in Gusau, said reiterated the commitment of the Corps to support the committee to deliver their assigned responsibilities of ensuring safe return to recovered rustled animals to their rightful owners.
Ikor Oche, the Command’s Public Relations Officer quoted Mustapha as saying that the Corps will not hesitate to prosecute anyone found wanting by the committee, adding that it was highly thoughtful of the state government to institute the committee which is aimed at curbing the high rate of animal rustling in the State
The State Commandant made this known when he hosted the Committee members led by Malam Saidu Aliyu Maikwanu in his office at the Command State headquarters Gusau.

The State NSCDC Boss, Commandant Sani Mustapha assured the Committee of the unwavering assistance of the Corps in the prosecution of whoever is found wanting as may be discovered by the committee.
Earlier, the Chairman of the committee, Malam Saidu Aliyu Maikwanu, expressed appreciation to the corps for efficient handling of cases brought by the committee to the Corps while soliciting for more support in order to efficiently handle the task stipulated in the committee’s terms of references.
