Bauchi Shariah Commission, Okada Union Ban Overload

Bauchi State Shari’ah Commission in collaboration with Okada and Tricycles Unions banned overloading and mixing male passengers with females in the state.

Further, the bodies sanctioned a ban on the use of music among Keke Napep drivers while plying roads, adding that such behaviors violate the accepted norms and values of the society.

Malam Mustapha Baba Ilelah, Chairman of the Commission said this in an interview with journalists in his office.

He said the new policies are among the Commission’s activities to ensure people do their day-to-day activities in accordance with the accepted doctrines of the society.

The Chairman said the Commission received many complaints about commercial motorcycles and tricycles operators from various people within the Bauchi metropolis.
