Adamawa Police Arrest Fraudster Posing as Ghost

The Adamawa State Police Command on Tuesday, arrested a 59-year-old man suspected of repeated fraud against members of the public.

According to a statement released by the Nigerian Police Force via their official X handle, the suspect identified as Muhammad Abubakar, also known as Malam Sabo, is notorious for his involvement in 419 activities, where individuals are deceived for financial gain.

The statement highlighted the suspect’s modus operandi, indicating that he often conceals his true identity and adopts various disguises to deceive his victims. In many instances, he assumes the role of a ghost, employing different voices during interactions with unsuspecting individuals.

Furthermore, the suspect has been known to alter his voice to imitate that of a woman or a child, employing these tactics to swindle his targets.

The arrest followed an incident where the suspect successfully duped an individual named Abba Bale from Demsawo, defrauding him of the sum of three hundred thousand naira (N300,000.00).
