APC Congress: Group Kicks Against Uba Nana’s Re-endorsement

A political pressure group called ‘Bauchi State APC Concerned Group’ has kicked against the re-endorsement of the incumbent state the caretaker chairman of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Uba Ahmed Nana.

WikkiTimes had earlier reported how a coalition of 36 support groups endorsed Mr Nana to continue steering the mantle of leadership of the party.

Breaking: A faction of Bauchi APC suspends State Party Chairman, Uba Nana

The group insists that Mr Nana should take the part of honour and allow someone else to take charge.

The group attributed the defeat of the party in 2019 to Mr Nana’s handling of its affairs.

“It is our belief that since the party lost 2019 governorship election to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the party had remained in its shadows waiting for a new direction which was not forthcoming until now, and it has left so many members of the party in a state of helplessness, confusion and hopelessness”.

Uba Nana has been the State chairman of the party for over eight years. He was reappointed by the national headquarters of the APC after the expiration of his tenure as caretaker committee chairman to supervise the congresses.

Last week, a coalition of 36 APC women and youth support groups re-endorsed him to retain the office in the upcoming state congress slated for October 2021, a move the APC group described as unhealthy for the party.
