Bauchi assembly gets 4 new principal officers

The Bauchi state House of Assembly has confirmed receiving four names of its principal officers forwarded to the house by the majority, All Progressives Congress (APC).‎

The Spokesperson of the house, Honourable Musa Nakwada who confirmed the development to journalists at the house complex on Monday explained that,  “today, we received the names of the principal officers been submitted by the APC party of Bauchi state”.‎

‎According to him, the principal officers include, Honorable Tijjani Mohammed Aliyu and ‎Babale Abubakar‎ as ‎the majority and ‎deputy majority leaders while Honourable ‎Tukur Ibrahim and ‎Bello Muazu Shira are to serve as ‎Chief whip and deputy chief whip respectively.

Nakwada who is also a member representing Bogoro local government area in the state assembly said that the assembly has also received one additional commissioner nominee, Dr Sani Muhammad Dambam from the state governor, Bala Mohammed to make the number of his cabinet to 21.

Recalled that the Governor had few weeks ago submitted to the state assembly 20 names of commissioner nominees for screening.‎

On preparations for the screening of Commissioners nominees, the house spokesman said that the exercise will be conducted within two days, Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th of this month.

Speaking on the modalities, Honourable Nakwada noted that, “the modalities of the screening is that, definitely somebody will come with a letter of confirmation been given to him, and their numbers as we agreed, we are going to use Tuesday and Wednesday so that they will come ten ten, and any other modalities will be followed.”
