Bauchi Gov Inaugurates 20 LG Caretaker Chairmen, Warns Against Enrolling Ghost Workers

Governor Bala Mohammed has sworn in new Caretaker committee Chairmen and their deputies for the 20 local government areas of the state. He also warned them to be wary of enrolling ghost workers in their payrolls.

WikkiTimes gathered the swearing-in followed the screening and confirmation of the chairman and deputies by the Bauchi State House of Assembly. 

Speaking during the swearing-in ceremony at the Multipurpose Indoor Sports Hall Bauchi on Wednesday, Governor Mohammed warned the chairmen to avoid tendencies of allowing ghost workers syndrome in their respective local governments.

He said a lot of efforts were made to clean both the nominal and salary payroll of all the local government areas in the state, hence government will not take it lightly with anyone found to be wanting. 

The governor also directed the chairmen to prepare modalities in their respective domains for the distribution of palliatives to cushion the current hardship faced by citizens following the removal of fuel subsidy.

He said government is working tirelessly to empower it’s citizens to enable them to come out stronger of the murky waters of hard economic times, calling on the chairmen to also replicate the same at the grassroots level. 

The governor reassured of the commitment of his administration to conduct local government elections in the state in no distance time.
