Bauchi Govt Fires Two Employees Over Forgery Allegations

The Bauchi State Government has terminated the employment of Nasiru Sama’ila and Auwal Jibrin, both of whom were employed by the state’s Ministry of Finance. They were dismissed on charges of falsifying documents belonging to the late Adamu Jibrin Zalanga.

WikkiTimes reports that the former employees embezzled N332,000 that belonged to the late Zalanga after his passing. Their positions were identified as Chief Clerical Officer and Assistant Clerical Officer.

Abubakar Usman, the Chairman of the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission, revealed this information in an official statement issued by the commission’s information officer, Saleh Umar. The statement was released to the press in Bauchi on Friday.

He said following deliberations on disciplinary matters, it was established that both individuals were culpable of fabricating documents to divert the sum of N332,000 that was rightfully the property of the deceased former employee, Adamu Jibrin Zalanga.

Their actions are in direct violation of Section 327 of the Public Service Rules, and they have confessed to their wrongdoing in response to the query letters sent to them by the ministry, Usman added.

Mr. Usman informed that the police had taken the suspects into custody and subsequently presented them before a Bauchi Magistrate Court. They are now set to face the full legal consequences of their actions.

WikkiTimes recalled that the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission had previously dismissed Garba Ibrahim, who was associated with the Bauchi State Pension Board, for a comparable offense
