Bauchi NTI Tightens COVID-19 Protocols, Employs Virtual Technology Amid FG’s ‘Work From Home’ Directive

The National Teachers Institute, NTI Bauchi office has stiffened adherence to NCDC approved COVID-19 safety protocols amid reports of the spread of the new variant of the virus among its staff.

Saleh Yahaya, Bauchi State NTI Coordinator stated this in an exclusive interview with WikkiTimes on Tuesday in his office.

The Coordinator explained that on hearing the news of the emergence of the new variant of COVID-19, his office geared up modalities that ensure strict observance of the approved safety protocols for the virus.

Mr. Saleh said that NTI distributed face masks and hand sanitizer to its staff plus hand washing detergents to curb the spread of the virus and its attendant fatalities.

“Hearing the news stimulated us to imbibe the spirit of abiding by the approved protocols of COVID-19.

“At NTI Bauchi we have hand sanitizers, we have face masks which have become mandatory to all the staff and wherever we go, we put on our face masks.

“This COVID-19 is real and we have to at our own end do something about it and take precautionary measures without waiting for the government to help us about it. We can do something about it at our own level to reduce its spread,” he said.

WikkiTimes observes that the block housing the NTI Bauchi office is less busy in compliance to the Federal Government directive that workers below level 13 are to work from home in an effort to decongest government establishments to curb the spread of the virus.

Mr. Saleh explains that NTI has adopted virtual technologies to facilitate working from home as directed by the Federal Government.

“There is no course for alarm because we experienced this last year so it is not a new thing to us at this point in time. All strategies are on ground and we know the strategies that we can adopt in order to make our work move very smoothly.

“Like our headquarters, since the inception of COVID-19, we have been holding our meetings online through the Zoom App using our smartphones and personal computers,” the Coordinator said.
