BREAKING: Atiku Wins PDP Presidential Primaries

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, a former Vice President and a serial presidential aspirant has again won the People’s Democratic Party Presidential ticket to fly the flag of his party during the 2023 general elections. The former vice president scored 371 votes to defeat his major rival, Nyesom Wike who polled 237 votes.

Mr Atiku again earned the favour of the PDP delegates in a keenly contested primary election.

WikkiTimes had earlier reported that the Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal withdrew his contest and backed the former Vice President.

Mr Atiku battled Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike; former Senate President, Bukola Saraki; Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed among others.

Atiku has been a serial presidential aspirant dating back to 1993 when he contested the Social Democratic Party presidential primaries but lost to Moshood Abiola.

Other aspirants in the contest include former Senate President Bukola Saraki who scored 70 votes, Udom Emanuel, 38 votes and Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, 20 votes.

Others are Mrs Tari Oliver Diana who scored one vote and former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim 14 votes. Dele Momodu and Ayo Fayose scored zero votes.
