The Bauchi State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress has suspended Adamu Mohammed Bulkachuwa, Senator Representing Bauchi North Senatorial District over what it called “aggressive behavior and non-performance”.
The party in a press conference held at Azare, Bulkachuwa’s home town also threatened to recall the Senator.
Sa’adu Muhammad, the APC Chairman of Kafin Kuka Kofar Gabas ward, the political ward Bulkachuwa hails from described the senator as a disgrace to the APC and what it stands for.
“This guy (Senator Bulkachuwa) remains the most unfortunate and ungrateful party member the APC has ever produced.
“Despite the Coronavirus ravaging his constituency and the prominent people that have died in Azare, Bulkachuwa has never found it worthy to either commiserate with the people of Azare over the deaths or send palliative packages to ease people’s sufferings due to the Coronavirus pandemic”, Sa’adu said.
Addressing Journalists during the press conference, Enr. Muhammad Kabir Secretary, Concerned Youths of Katagum said “Our senator’s excessive arrogance and insensitivity defy any logic in democratic cadastres and parlance, this compelled the people of his constituency to take the hardest decision and strong stand going beyond verbal expression of non-confidence to proactive measures to recall him with all urgency and rapidity”, he said.
“The essence of democracy is primarily to present and safeguard the interest of the populace. “A representative most importantly should uphold the interest of the people he represents above his personal ones. If he cannot afford to do that, he is not worth given the mandate.
He said the demand and aspiration, “pain and agony, needs and wants of the people of Katagum senatorial constituency is pitiable because of the senator’s gross misconduct and failure to table it where it matters most that is the senate chamber.
“Senator Bulkachuwa has disappeared into thin air, evidently deserted his constituency for over six months now, no iconic presence or project from him is sighted in his constituency all this while”, he lamented.Efforts to reach Bulkachuwa for comments were fruitless as his known mobile line was switched off.
