Contractor Abandons Fedpoly Bida Road After Pocketing N14.9 Million

In March this year, Federal Ministry of Education paid N14.9 million to Karl-Zing Global Investment Company Limited for the repair of the 180m-NICON Hostel Campus road in Federal Polytechnic Bida, Niger State but the contractor repaired only one section of the road, a Tracka report indicates.

The report further shows that the work done is not commensurable to the funds released and therefore called on the implementing agency, the Federal Ministry of Education to provide details of the project and direct the Contractor to mobilise back to the site.

“In March 2023, N14.9m was paid to Karl-zing Global Investment Company Ltd for the Repair of 180m road along NICON Hostel Campus road Federal Polytechnic Bida, Niger”.

“We tracked and reported that only one section of the road was repaired and laid with asphalt. The other section of the road is yet to be carried out and no drainage was constructed.

” We also observed that the funds released were for 180 meters of the total road length but the repair work done was significantly less than 180 meters,” the report read in part.

WikkiTimes’ findings showed that the Karl-Zing Global Investment Company Ltd was incorporated in Keffi, Nasarawa State in 2012. The Company is owned by five individuals belonging to the same family. The owners of the company are Ebiloma Jonathan Hilary, Anita Ik-ojo Jonathan, Carl-mark Omakoji Jonathan, Thomas Ojonugwu Jonathan and Toby Ojochegbe Jonathan.

As at press time, the supervising agency, the Ministry of Education, has not responded to WikkiTimes’ enquiry as to why the 180m Federal Polytechnic Bida road project was abandoned.
