Saratu Jonathan, 22, a Bauchi State-born girl lives with Faisal her boyfriend in Galadimawa, a suburb of the Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja.
Faisal, who is also a Bauchi-born man stripped her of N20,000 and later assaulted her leaving her stranded with different sorts of injuries.
Saratu’s ordeal started when she lost her mother and her father got her a stepmother. She alleged that Jonathan her father, after married to his new wife, abandoned her, “He is a type of men that abandoned their children if they marry another wife,” she told Berekete Family TV.
Saratu couldn’t stay with the family members in Tafawa Balewa of Bauchi State after the demise of her mother and allegedly abandoned by father- she relocated to Galadimawa in FCT where she is doing a menial job that earns her N25,000 a month.
She befriends Faisal, but the relationship could not provide her with any relief – it is traumatic – she was not only financially extorted, but brutally beaten by the boyfriend.
Having befriended him, she settled in his house and also lent him some money, but it was not so good for her. “The incident happened at midnight 12 am, he asked me to pack and leave his house.”
“I said I would not leave until he refunded my N20,000. But he refused and I held two of his clothes and told him I would not give him back until he paid me back my money.”
According to her, he punched her to the ground and beat her callously. The Faisal’s alledged enormity could be easily traced on Saratu’s face, “see my swollen eye, ear, my face.”
