She spoke with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) during her courtesy visit to its  Lagos office saying this was part of her pet project.

“The training will start with youths  from Ife whom will be trained in make-up artist, tying of ‘gele’ or head gears, bead making, wig making, sewing and hair styling.

“They will be handled by professionals in the various fields.

“The training will be spread to other states of the federation through the support  of Ooni Ogunwusi, the House of Oduduwa Foundation and other sponsors,’’ she said.

She said this would make the youth to become self reliant, earn respect from the society, be able to contribute their quota to nation building as well as  curb the incidences of social vices.

According to the 19-year- old queen, the project will be her third since she was crowned the third Queen Moremi Ajasoro in December 2018.

She added that it would also be part of her own corporate social responsibility (CSR) or a way of giving back to the society.

The 300-level English language student of the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife,  Osun also said that her focus would be, to be the voice of the voiceless, the motherless, the disabled children, the girl child and youths.

“My concern during my reign will also include: visiting and providing for orphans, the disabled and the needy children in addition to also serving as their voice.

“I also want to redirect the orientation of youths, especially the girl child, by empowering  them with skills and moral education that will shape and direct their future positive,” she said.

The 2017 Miss Surulere also told NAN that there was one of the ways of showing compassion to the disabled children.

She said that when the society was able to identify their  potential, such could be harnessed for nation building.

“We need to give hope, joy to these children, especially, the abandoned because they have their own lives to live and can  contribute to the progress of our nation if we lend them our helping hand,” she said.

She said that her current project scheduled to come up this month, would be an empowerment project to boost self reliance in youths.

She described training of the youths in various craft as a bold step in creating a self reliant economy.

“When you train the youth in craft, you are reducing unemployment, idleness and crime in the society, which is why I am focusing on them.

“The type of youths in a society, especially, female sex, determines the level of success of that nation, therefore, they are key in my vision of giving back to the society, ” she said.

NAN reports that Queen Moremi Ajasoro beauty contest initiated by Ooni Ogunwusi started in 2016.

Blessing Animashaun, a student of the University of Ibadan was the maiden queen and she was  succeeded by Shola Shittu of Elizade University based in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo state.

The contest was conceived to boost  the Yoruba culture in particular among young girls whose parents hailed from the Yoruba speaking states .

The contest showcased the strength and the heroic values of the legendary Queen  Moremi  Ajasoro who assisted the people of Ile-Ife to conquer their enemies several decades ago.

The contest is meant to instill in contemporary young ladies the qualities to be selfless and be  committed in nation building.
