Democracy Day: Gov Bala Explains Why He Launches Empowerment Program

Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, has explained why he performed the official launching of Kaura Economic Empowerment Program (KEEP), for the distribution of cash, business starter packs and motorcycles to beneficiaries at Zaki and Gamawa Local Government Areas of the State.

During the ceremony held at Zaki, Governor Bala said his administration has budgeted N1.5 billion for the empowerment which would be conducted in all the twenty Local Government Areas of the State.

A statement by Lawal Muazu Bauchi, new media aide to Bauchi Governor made available to WikkiTimes  on Saturday said, the governor Bala Mohammed led administration decided to use the Democracy Day to launch the empowerment program in order to appreciate the beneficiaries for their support to the advancement of democracy.

He added that his administration initiated the youths and women empowerment programme tagged: “Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP) as a move to make the beneficiaries to be self-reliant.

Governor Bala added that human capital is key to progress, hence his the administration will continue to do more in improving the well-being of the citizens of the State through education, health and infrastructure.

The Governor appreciated the people of the two LGAs for their support to his administration

He, therefore, charged them not to relent in supporting his administration for its success towards making Bauchi State great.

Other speakers including the State First Lady, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, State PDP Chairman, Hamza Koshe Akuyam and members of the House of Representatives from Zaki and Gamawa constituencies, Honorable Auwal Jatau and Honorable Madaki Gololo appreciated the foresight of Governor Bala for coming up with the program which according to them will contribute to reduce unemployment.
