FG Flags Off Flood And Erosion Control Project In Gafasa, Kano State

The Federal Government has flagged off the Flood and erosion control project in Gafasa community of Ajingi Local Government in Kano State, which includes the embankment and construction of six channels to enhance irrigation farming in the community.

Speaking at the ceremony to flag off the project, the Permanent Secretary of Ecological Project Office, Dr. Habiba Lawal, represented by the Director of Press & Public Relations, Dr. Joel O. Oruche, called for peace and cooperation with the Contractors to ensure a quality job and timely delivery of the project within the scheduled period of six (6) months.

The Chairman of Ajingi Local Government Area, Alhaji Murtala Uba Danabiye represented by his Deputy, Alhaji Sa’ad Jibrin Toranke commended the Federal Government for coming to their rescue in addressing the ecological challenges that bedeviled the community. 

Alhaji Toranke assured that the community will cooperate and give maximum support needed by the Contractor for the project.

The Contractor of the Project, Xenon Nigeria Limited represented by Engr. Samuel Adeyinka promised to complete the project within the specified period of six months with the required specification and good quality material.
