Gashua Fire: SEMA Distributes Relief Materials

The Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) has provided relief materials to female students of Federal University Gashua who were affected by recent fire outbreak at the female hostel of the university.

Goje Muhammed, the Executive Secretary of the agency while handing over food and non-food items to the Vice Chancellor of the university said the donation will go alone way in bringing succor to the victims.

He said the donation is in compliance with directives given by the state governor, Mai Mala Buni while responding to the plight of female students who lost their belongings as a result of fire outbreak that occurred on March 23, 2024.

Goje, who said even though the items may not replace the loses but will certainly cushion the hardship being experienced by the victims, assuring that the state government through the agency will always come to the flights of victims of disaster and the vulnerable.

Receiving the items on behalf of the university management, Professor Maimuna Waziri, the Vice Chancellor Federal University Gashua commended the state government for the support.
