Gombe Police Command nab 71 years old man for raping minor

Gombe state Police Command has arrested and paraded a 71 years old man, Ashiru Sule of Gombe state for allegedly raping a 13 year old girl.

The victim who had earlier accused the 71 year old grand father of forceful sexual intercourse, said Sule has been abusing her for 2 years, and also handed her charm which made her invisible.

According to the Commissioner of Police, Gombe, Ahmed Shehu Mai kudi, the suspected rapist, Sule was said to have handed his victim a locally made charm called ‘laya’ to enable his victim steal for him.

Shehu said, “Ashiru Sule of Idi quarters Gombe State aged 71 years was arrested in a case of rape of a 13 years old at Galdimari quarters Gombe”.

“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect lured the victim to grind corn and to steal more corn at the grinding place”, the CP explained.

According to him, “the suspect gave a Talisman to the victim to bury in her house which will prevent her from being caught or seen while in the act of stealing.The victim confessed that the suspect had raped her ten times”.

Parading the suspect on Wednesday in at the command headquarters in Gombe, the CP also paraded a kidnap syndicate.

The police commissioner who said the arrest of the kidnap suspect followed a joint effort of hunters and SARS operatives in the state, noted that the operation left a member of the gang dead.

“A combined team of Police patrol, SARS operatives and hunters led by DPO pindiga blocked Badara routes via Kashere Pindiga Division.

On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums exchanged fire with the police and as a result one of the kidnappers was gunned down and one Babangida Musa who is also one of the kidnappers was arrested while others fled with gunshot injuries,” Shehu said.
