Misilli said the recruitment was in congruence with the administration’s health sector reforms plan (2019-2023).

The statement added that the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (SPHCDA), in alliance with the Global Alliance for Vaccine and Immunisation (GAVI), had called for applications.

Furthermore, applicants must be registered midwives, Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) and Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW) with valid licences.

WikkiTimes gathered that the decision to recruit was influenced by the governor’s determination to deal with the chronic shortage of skilled health workers needed to render the basic minimum package of health services, particularly at the primary level.
