Magistrate Kolawole Aluko, asserting a lack of jurisdiction to entertain the charges, refrained from taking the plea of the suspects. Despite this, he carefully considered the submissions from both the prosecution and the second defendant’s counsel. Consequently, he ordered the remand of the suspects and scheduled the case for mention on January 17, 2024.
Highlighting the severity of the charges, the magistrate emphasised that the offences were not ordinarily bailable, leaving the courtroom in suspense about the unfolding legal drama.
