Hon. Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, Bauchi State Commissioner forlocal government affairs has insisted that he has not tested positive for
coronavirus, saying it was framed against him.Zaki who tookto his Facebook page says he’s healthy and will not accept to be framedwith the deadly virus.
“I Hon. Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki, the Bauchi State commissionerfor local government affairs is declaring that I’m not sick. “I don’t feel anypain in my body; I’m not coughing, I don’t have headache, nor fever and I’meating food with no loss of appetite.
“I’m fine and healthy and there is no sign of whatever kindof ailment in my body and will not accept to be framed with any ailment.
The commissioner in a telephone conversation at the BauchiIsolation centre continues to insist that he’s not positive for coronavirus.
“I’m at the isolation centre, but I continue to insist thatnothing is wrong with me, because this sickness is framed on me”, he said onthe phone.
When asked whether he was receiving medication associatedwith the virus, Zaki said “If they bring it I will take it, why not?
Asked what would be his next line of action having insistedthat he has not tested positive for the virus, Zaki said, “I leave that toGod”.
When contacted to comment on the controversy, Dr AliyuMaigoro, the Bauchi state commissioner for health said “I’m glad that headmitted been at the isolation centre, that shows that we have done our work asministry. “Ours is to do our work, we cannot mould anyone’s opinion”.
“What we are supposed to do as health experts is to informhim of the danger of this virus and take him to where he can be treated, and wehave done exactly that”, Dr Maigoro added.
Zaki was believed to be the third index case that was testedpositive for coronavirus in Bauchi.
He remains at the isolation centre in Bauchi and is receiving treatment as testified by Dr. Aliyu Maigoro.
