A few days after the investigation was published, insiders who reached out to WikkiTimes told this medium that Doguwa “did not learn any lesson from what was published”, a staff of the college who pleaded anonymity told our reporter.
He said, “Although he was mad about the report, I can assure you that impunity in the school continues. He is the one deciding who gets admission into the school. The academic freedom that should exist to enable Departments to take admissions’ decisions based on merit is totally abused and disregarded. “In fact, he wanted to transfer staff of the college who are fingered to have spoken to the press about the happenings in the school, but the provost was warned by the Speaker, Bauchi Assembly and Chairman House Committee on health”, he said
The staff added that “They (members of Bauchi State House of Assembly) insisted that no lecturer shall leave the college because of an individual interest as against the public interest.”
Another staff who spoke on conditions of anonymity told this medium that “One of the major issues we have in the college is that the Provost who ought to be proactive to make informed decisions that will move the college forward has demonstrated too weakness and incapacitation.
The Chairman of the governing council is that one deciding what would be done in the school, which completely negate due process and the norm”, he said.
When contacted to comment on WikkiTimes’ findings, the Chairman of the Governing Council declined to respond, instead, directed the reporter to speak with the Provost.
The Provost had equally turned down repeated requests for interviews.
