ISWAP Suffers Military Offensives in Borno, Warns ‘Spying’ Farmers, Fishermen to Avoid Farmlands

As military airstrikes continued to disloge and kill fighters of Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) in Marte Local Government Area of Borno State, the terror group has banned “spying” farmers and fishermen from accessing their farms.

The terrorists believe the locals spy on them amid the military offensives. They vowed to kill anyone spotted around Katikime, Bulungahe, Kutukungunla, Chikun Gudu, Tumbumma, Guma Kura, Guma Gana and Marte communities.

According to Daily Trust, the terror group issued the warning after it suffered huge offensives from the Nigerian troops. The ongoing operation led to the killings of its top commanders and destruction of their camps among other properties.

Some of the airstrikes were recorded in Grazah and Wa-Jahode, on the fringes of the Mandara Mountain. Military sources said the offensives resulted in the killing of over 100 terrorists and top commanders like Amir Malam Bello and Amir Malam Musa Modu.

Recently, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Borno deployed its firepower after its intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platform spotted a convergence of Boko Haram terrorists in Amchille in Geizuwa, where it killed several fighters and destroyed vehicle belonging to the terrorists.

MEANWHILE, top commanders of Boko Haram terrorist group, Khaid Malam Ali and his lieutenant Bunu Umar “have surrendered to he troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the North East of Borno state,” according to Zagazola Makama, a counterinsurgency expert and security analyst in the Lake Chad region.

Zagazola disclosed this in a Twitter post.

“It was gathered that Ali and his fighters were dislodged by the ISWAP terrorists group after they coordinated a raid at the hideouts of Boko Haram in Bula Alhaji Garwaye in the fingers of Sambisa Near Bama LGA on, July 5, 2023,” he tweeted. “Ali was a Commander of the terrorists in Sabil Huda and Njumia. He laid down his arms due to the fear of Battle field elimination.”
