Just In: APC Postpones National Convention For Zonal Congresses

The All Progressive Congress, APC, has indefinitely shifted its National Convention earlier slated for February 26 to allow for the conduct of Zonal Congresses nationwide.

After much pressure from the stalwarts of the party, the APC National Caretaking Committee gave February 26 as the date for the national convention. Many believed that the inability of the party to go for the national convention is a tactical delay vested interest and groups within the ranks of the party caused in their race for the heart of the APC ahead of the 2023 general elections.

The APC in a letter dated Monday 21st February 2022 jointly signed by the National Caretaking Committee Chairman Mai Mala Buni and Secretary of the Committee John Akpanudoedehe and addressed to Independent National Election Commission, INEC, Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, said the latest notice overrides other notices sent earlier on.

it said that it will hold the Zonal Congresses on March 26, calling on INEC to mobilise its personnel to monitor the conduct of the congresses.
