Four Die, Seven Injured In Bauchi Auto Crash

Four persons have been confirmed dead in a fatal accident that occurred along Bauchi-kano road on Sunday afternoon along Bauchi-Kano road, about 9 kilometers away from Bauchi metropolis.

Information from the Bauchi State Sector Command of the Federal Roads Safety Corps (FRSC) revealed that two commercial vehicles, a Sharon minibus, and an Opel Vectra, had collision at Sabongari village close to Giwo Science Academy.

The Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corp, Bauchi State, Yusuf Abdullahi confirmed this added that seven other people sustained varying degrees of injuries in the crash he attributed to over-speeding and dangerous driving.

“The crash which was caused by speed violation and dangerous driving, involved two vehicles, a Sharon bus with registration number: TRR391YX and an Opel Vectra Salon also with registration number: AA268 SHR.

“Our men rushed them to the Specialist Hospital, Bauchi for medical treatment and confirmation where a medical doctor confirmed four persons, three male adults and one female adult dead”. He said.

Abdullahi said that three people died on the spot of the accident, while another died at the Bauchi Specialist’s Hospital in Bauchi, noting that those injured were being treated at the trauma center of the hospital.

However, he said that the names and identities of the drivers of the two vehicles could not yet be ascertained.
