Seven more abducted victims of the Kaduna-Abuja train attack were freed on Saturday, Aminiya is reporting.
A train on its way to Abuja from Kaduna was hijacked by terrorists on May 28, 2022 which led to the kidnapping and killing of some of the passengers on board.
The freed victims, who had spent more than 3 months in captivity, included 6 men and a woman.
Aminiya reports that a member of the negotiating team and media consultant to Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, Tukur Mamu, said the kidnapped victims were released after a dialogue and negotiation with the terrorists.
WikkiTimes learnt that the released victims include Bosede Olurotimi, Abubakar Zubairu, Alhassan Sule, Sadiq Ango Abdullahi, Muhammad Daiyabu Paki, Aliyu Usman, and a Pakistani doctor, Muhammad Abuzar Afzal.
Tukur Mamu claimed that he single-handedly facilitated and initiated the release of the seven kidnapped victims with support from Sheikh Ahmad Gumi.
“That is why I keep emphasising that the government has the power to end the agony of these innocent victims in one day,” he told Channels TV.
