The University has been thrown into darkness leaving completely cut off from the national grid.

KEDCO disconnected the university about a week ago over inability to settle its outstanding bill of N248 million, a situation that has currently paralysed academic activities.

Narrating the ordeal to newsmen, the Dean of Students’ Affairs of the university, Professor Abdulkadir Dambazau, said efforts to convince KEDCO to reconnect the institution back to the National Grid were not successful, as the company insisted on the settlement of the entire bill.

Professor Dambazau said, there was the payment of twenty million Naira, which according to him, was the university’s enhanced monthly subvention from the State Government.
