A bandits’ attack close to the Kebbi–Sokoto border has reportedly killed at least 7 farmers with many others displaced.
Residents in about seven communities were affected by the attack.
Daily Trust reports that shops and residential buildings were burnt by the attackers.
Victims who fled the attack are taking refuge at Jarkuka village in Arewa Local Government area of Kebbi.
Meanwhile, Kebbi State Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Empowerment, Muhammad Hamidu Jarkuka and Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed distributed relief materials to the affected persons.

Yakubu Ahmed, Commissioner for Information and Culture warned leaders of the victims of the attack to ensure that the relief materials were distributed accordingly adding that, the items include, bags of millet, and rice beans and other useable items
“We are in the village on behalf of His Excellency. Gov. Nasir Idris, to distribute relief materials to displaced victims of bandits attacks,” he added.
He said relief materials include, thousands of bags of millet, rice and beans as well as mats, detergents, buckets and seasoning among others, as emergency measures to ameliorate the suffering of these people.
WikkiTimes recalls that banditry attacks in Kebbi claimed the innocent lives of citizens of the state. For instance, in May this year, bandits killed 42 persons including six police personnel in Kebbi and neighbouring Zamafara State.
