Lagos lawmaker distributes 1,000 JAMB forms to constituents

A Lagos lawmaker, Mr Gholahan Yishawu, says he has started the distribution of 1,000 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to students in his constituency.

Yishawu (APC), representing Eti-Osa Constituency II in the Lagos State House of Assembly, made this known to newsmen on Tuesday in Eti-Osa, Lagos.

He said the Gholahan Olusegun Yishawu (GOY) Free JAMB forms distribution, which started on Jan. 20, was the 7th Edition.

Yishawu, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Budget and Economic Planning, said the gesture was part of his commitment to educational development in his constituency.

“My commitment toward education has been the propeller driving most of our programmes in the constituency.

“As we know that education is the bedrock of any nation, and for us to get rid of social vices and ills in our society, we must train our children,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Akor Gilbert, expressed gratitude to the lawmaker, saying the gesture had impacted the lives of people in Eti-Osa Constituency, especially the less privileged.

“This is a privilege to us as students because it lessens the burden on our parents. I will advise others to make use of this opportunity judiciously,” he said.

Also, Ms Dolapo Olabinjo, another beneficiary, appreciated the lawmaker for giving her the opportunity to get a free JAMB form.

“If I passed the JAMB examination, I will like to study Physiology at the Lagos State University (LASU), Ojo.

“This has really helped parents who could not afford to buy the form,” she said.

A parent, Mr Abdullahi Yunusa, who came to receive a form for his son, said that one of his daughters, Aminat, benefited from a scholarship scheme of the lawmaker in 2017.
