Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau has lauded the achievements of the 9th Plateau State House of Assembly (PLHA) on its first year anniversary under the leadership of its Speaker, Mr Nuhu Abok.
Lalong, in a congratulatory message signed by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr Makut Macham, on Wednesday in Jos, described members of the legislative arm of government as proactive in the discharge of their duties.
He commended their thorough and responsive approach in carrying out their duties of law making and oversight.
“The 9th House has demonstrated that it is made up of Honourable Members who have the interest of their constituents and the entire state at heart.
“They have given due attention to passing laws that have direct impact on the citizens of the state in the last one year,” Lalong said.
He also described their conduct as exemplary because of their consistency and collaborative engagements with the Executive arm and heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the course of carrying out their duties.
Lalong commended them for the timely passage of the 2020 budget and their support in the fight against COVID-19.
The governor commended PLHA for supporting measures taken by the executive to address the economic and health impact of the disease.
He wished the Assembly further fruitful engagements ahead, as they continue to serve the people and contribute to ensure smooth administration for the development of the state. (NAN)
