Lead Generation Commends Bauchi Police, Pledges To Empower 9 Youths In Custody

Lead Generation Initiative has commended the Bauchi State Police Command for maintaining peace and stability amidst the recent #EndSARS protests that ravaged the country.
Hon Shina Abiola Peller, member representing Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency and founder Lead Generation Initiative made the commendation when he lead management team of the organisation on an advocacy visit to Bauchi State Police Command on Saturday.

Hon Shina praised the good relationship existing between the police and “law abiding and vibrant youths of Bauchi State.”

The founder said the level of peace prevalent in the state to which Bauchi State Police Command gave lion contribution was one of the factors that motivated him to visit the command to interact with youths under police investigation.

“Bauchi State is Peaceful and that is why I decided to come to commend the good work Nigeria Police in Bauchi State have done most especially during the #EndSARS protests,” he said.

He explained that parts of the reason for the visit is to “have a chat with the suspects who have been arrested, talk to them to see what the government and the police can do in providing an enabling environment for them to be useful to the society and to stop them doing this nefarious activities.

The founder explained that the #EndSARS protest tested the resolve of Nigerians to “remain as a united country.”

The lawmaker opined that sustainable development cannot be achieved if Nigerian youths failed to understand that peace is non-negotiable.

Jon. Shina explained that Lead Generation Initiative was in the state for a two-day capacity building training for 150 youths to enable them actively participate in governance and decision making.

He said part of the objectives of the training was to close the gap between the rich and the poor.
“I noticed that there is gap between the rich and the poor and young and old ones in Nigeria which has made most of our youths not to have interest in national matters,” Hon Shina said.

During the visit the lawmaker interacted with nine youth who were arrested in relation to stealing, promising to train them on various skills acquisition programmes under his initiative in its next phase.

Responding, Commissioner of Police Bauchi State Command, CP Lawan Tanko Jimeta who was represented by the command’s PPRO, DSP Mohammed Wakil, said as part of efforts to maintain peace in the state, the police usually engages with the youth.
The CP commended the lawmaker for the iniative.
