An NGO, Hausa/Fulani Youth Development and Orientation Forum(HAFYDOF), has commenced a seven weeks skills acquisition training for 2,000 women and youths in Bauchi state.
The Chairman of the NGO, Musa Dambam, who made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Bauchi on Wednesday, said the free training would be conducted in four centres in Bauchi, the state capital.
Dambam said that the exercise was to complement government effort in reducing poverty through skills acquisition training and for the beneficiaries to be self-reliant.
“The skills acquisition training is on trades that need smaller capital and resources for start up.
” The training includes, carpet making, inverter installation, car wash detergent, home decorations, methods of extracting coconut and sesame oil , sewing, driving, beverage making and detergent making,” Dambam said.
The training centres are located in Bayan fada, Kandahar,Gwabba and Ibrahim Bako wards of Bauchi metropolis (NAN)
