Bauchi state House of Assembly says it will ensure speedy passage of the state’s 2020 appropriation when transmitted to the assembly by the executive.
The Chairman, House Committee on budget, Honourable Abdulkadir Umar Dewu, gave the assurance during a familiarization visit to the state’s commissioner of budget and economic planning Dr Aminu Gamawa.

Dewu said “we are here on official assignment. “The main purpose of our visit is to introduce ourselves to you and management of the Ministry as our Committee was responsible for advising or recommending to the house on budget and appropriation issues.”

Abdulkadir Dewu, member representing Kirfi constituency at the state’s Assembly, said the legislators would work tirelessly towards ensuring speedy and timely passage of the 2020 budget to enable citizens benefit from the government’s projects.

He pledged to work with the ministry to address the challenges affecting administration of budget in the state, and appealed to the commissioner to ensure adherence to the appropriation laws especially, the Fiscal Responsibility Act for effective implementation of the budget.

The Chairman who commended the Commissioner for accepting to serve as member of the State’s executive council, urged him to deploy his experience for the development of the state.
