The Niger State government has announced the appointment of 131 women into different political offices in the state.
The appointments were confirmed by spokesperson for the governor, Bologi Ibrahim, in a statement on Saturday.
Breaking down the figures, he noted that 41 of them will serve the state as coordinators, while 90 will serve as Senior Special Assistants (SSAs).

The governor, Mohammed Umaru Bago, noted that the appointments were in fulfilment of his campaign promise to allow more women to contribute to governance in the state.
He congratulated the women, urging them to be dedicated to carrying out their responsibility. He further urged them to be steadfast in contributing their quota to the success of the present government in the state.
