Plateau Governor Fumes over State of Govt Assets

Plateau state governor Celeb Mutfwang has expressed dismay over deplorable condition of some government assets, saying action must be taken to restore the dignity of some edifice that stand the face of the state.

The governor while going round with officials of the state Ministry of Housing and Urban Development at the JD Gomwalk House and Tati Building, said the condition of the state’s assets is worrisome and there is the need for the government to step in to restore the dignity of the building.

“We took some time off with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development to take a look at some Government Assets that have been lying furlong for some time. What I have seen in the JD Gomwalk House and Tati Building shows the deplorable condition of the buildings”.

“We will need to set into action works that will be done to restore the dignity of these buildings for us to be able to put the buildings into good and effective use”, said the governor.

According to him, his administration will not allow government assets to be wasted, acknowledging that the buildings were properly constructed and that he will set up a technical team to provide a guideline on how best to key in to restore the lost glory of the buildings.

“We can not allow Government assets to keep wasting, especially Legal assets like the JD Gomwalk House. We are glad the buildings were properly constructed but they will need to be upgraded in view of the times in which we live”, he added.
