Renowned Academic, Prof. Umaru Pate Honoured with Prestigious HLF Award for Media Excellence

Hallmarks Labour Foundation, the organizers of the Christopher Kolade awards, have announced Professor Umaru Pate as the winner of the prestigious award.

This was announced in a statement signed by Hallmark Labour Foundation Executive Secretary, Patricia Otuedon-Arawore.

The statement obtained by WikkiTimes, indicates that the award was in recognition of “his established track record of exemplary leadership and professionalism in the communication media in Nigeria”.

The Hallmarks of Labour Foundation, which champions the celebration of such excellence, has cited Prof Pate’s exemplary leadership and professional record in the communication media as the reason for his selection. This distinction places Prof Pate among the esteemed ranks of Great Nigerian Role Models.

The award presentation is scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, marking the highlight of the Foundation’s 27th Anniversary.

The Foundation has extended an invitation to the public, detailing the congratulatory message rates for inclusion in their Events Brochure. The rates are set at two hundred thousand Naira (₦200,000) for a full page and one hundred thousand Naira (₦100,000) for a half page. 

To ensure timely preparations, the Foundation has requested that congratulatory messages and payments be submitted by March 19, 2024.

The statement also sought that interested persons who want to be a part of the celebrations can feature in the events bronchure, such interests can be sent to [email protected]

Professor Umaru Pate is Nigeria’s leading light in the communication industry, having mentored many and pioneered many major developments in the communication and media space of the country.

He is currently the Vice Chancellor of Federal University, Kashere, Gombe State. He has also been celebrated nationally and globally for his works before now. He became a Professor of Mass Communication at the age of 36 and was a senior lecturer at Bayero University, Kano.
