Two Kenyan Parliament Members Set to Marry

Two members of the Kenyan parliament are set to make history by becoming the first MPs to marry each other.

The bride, whose name is Murang’a and who represents Betty Maina, accepted the marriage proposal submitted by Mathira MP Eric wa Mumbi at the end of last week and shared pictures on social media.

According to TRT Afrika, both have been married before. Also, they are members of parliament under the current coalition government.

Kenya’s Vice President Rugatha Gachagua will lead the groom’s family next Saturday to take the dowry to the bride’s house.

According to their tradition, money and gifts are given as appreciation to the bride’s parents.

The groom told the media that he met his bride in 2022 and discovered that she had everything he wants to see in the woman he would marry.
