VOW2023: Kwara Gov Acknowledged for Pioneering Gender Inclusion in Key Leadership Positions

Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State was honoured at the just-concluded 7th Voice of Women Conference [held in Abuja] for his exemplary commitment to gender inclusion.

WikkiTimes had earlier reported that Nigeria’s Vice President, Kashima Shettima alongside his Liberia’s counterpart, Jewel Taylor, would speak at the conference.

Organisers of the conference said the award was in recognition and appreciation to how the Kwara State government keyed women into more leadership roles.

This year’s conference, themed ‘Repositioning of Women for Greater Impact’, convened prominent women from Nigeria and across African countries to share inspirational insights on the crucial matter of women’s inclusion in all facets of society.

She encouraged women to be visible in their efforts to make an impact and strategic in their pursuit of power, as historical disparities suggest it may not be readily granted, even when women are highly competent.

The conference, organised by Women Radio 91.7 FM, served as a platform to showcase various women empowerment initiatives and the substantial impact they have had.
