10,000 Youths, Women To Benefit From Bauchi’s N1.5billion Empowerment Programme

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has said that not less than 10,000 youths and women across the 20 local government areas of the State will benefit from the Kaura Economic Empowerment Programme (KEEP).

Mohammed, who made this known while launching the programme in Zaki and Gamawa local government areas said that the empowerment programme would gulp over N1billion. 

According to the Governor, KEEP is meant to mitigate poverty and make citizens self reliant. He said that his two years in office has focused on infrastructural development, improving health and education, saying it is time to empower the citizens.

He further indicated that 500 people would benefit from each local government in different trade.

Speaking at the separate event the Chairmen of the two benefiting local government Yahuza Abdulkadir of Zaki and his counterpart in Gamawa appreciated the Governor for the programme, describing it as timely.

Mohammed’s wife, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed assured that women would benefit maximally from the programme to enable them to become self-reliant.

She enjoined the beneficiaries not to sell starter packs distributed to them, hence they should use it to better their lots.

The beneficiaries would l be empowered across 43 trades which includes motorcycle, grinding machine, mechanical and makeup kits, shoe making machines among others.
