The police in Adamawa state have arrested a 33-year-old butcher, for allegedly stabbing his wife to death for taking away his mobile phone.
The suspect, Ibrahim Abubakar, a resident of Sabon Gari-Futy of Girei LGA of Adamawa state was arrested by the police after stabbing his wife’s back with a sharp knife over little argument after he accused of her of taking away his mobile phone.
Sulaiman Yahaya, Adamawa State Police Command spokesperson while confirming the incident in a statement said the suspect has confessed killing the mother of his only one child.
“The Adamawa State Police Command on 8/4/2024, apprehended a 33 years old man, for stabbing to death his 25years old wife Hajara Sa’adu. The suspect, Ibrahim Abubakar, a Butcher and resident of Sabon Gari-Futy in Girei local Government Area subdued the deceased, by stabbing her severally with a sharp knife on her back thereby causing her severe injuries and left her in a pool of blood”.
“The suspect brutally killed the deceased on the 8/4/2024 at about 04:30 am, after he accused her of taking away his phone that led to little arguments. The suspect was apprehended following the report made to police by the father of the deceased and preliminary investigation conducted leading to the recovery of material evidences at the scene of the crime which is linked to him (Husband now Suspect)”, said Sulaiman.
According to the statement, the suspect has voluntarily made a confessional statement, adding that that he regretted killing the mother of their only child, adding that the suspect will be prosecuted pending the completion of investigation.
