Abuja-based Activist Brutalises Police Orderly for Refusing ‘Domestic Chores’

Professor Zainab Duke Abiola, an Abuja-based legal practitioner and human rights activist, Tuesday evening ordered her maid including a yet-to-be-identified male suspect to brutalise Teju Moses, a female police officer (attached to her as an orderly) for refusing “menial and domestic chores.”

In a Twitter post, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), revealed that professor Abiola who is an Mbaise-born activist, “grievously assaulted her orderly in the company of some accomplices on Tuesday 20th September 2022 at her residence in Garki, Abuja, due to the refusal of the orderly to breach professional ethics by carrying out menial and domestic chores at her house.”

While the professor and her maid, Rebecca Enechido have been arrested by the police, Adejobi said the third suspect — a male — is currently at large.

According to the police spokesman, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba Alkali, “has directed the express prosecution of the arrested suspects who are currently in Police custody, as the preliminary investigation shows overwhelming evidence of culpability on the part of the Professor and her domestic staff.”

The brutalised officer in a video that went viral yesterday, said the professor had sent her boys to kill her. Some of the residents who came to the officer’s rescue could be heard condemning the professor’s action.
