Adamawa Court Remands Man For Stabbing Friend To Death 

The Chief Magistrate Court sitting in Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, has remanded a middle-aged man, Aliyu Hammanseyo, for allegedly killing his friend, Bilham Babangida over N1,500 debt.

Francis Audu, the Police Prosecutor who read the charge before Magistrate Muhammed Abubakar, said the defendant who lives in Mubi North Local Government Area of the state, stabbed the victim, Babangida, to death with a knife on June 7, 2022.

The officer also noted that Hammanseyo confessed to stabbing the deceased in the chest during interrogation. He therefore pleaded with the court to remand the defendant.

Late Babangida was allegedly attacked by the suspect when he attempted to recover the N1,500 the latter owed him, according to the charge read against Hammanseyo.

The magistrate adjourned the case till July 14, 2022, and ordered that the defendant be remanded.

The death of Babangida is one of the series of attacks among the residents of Adamawa State in recent times leading to the loss of lives.

Recall that WikkiTimes earlier this month reported that the police in Adamawa State arrested seven family members for avenging their father’s death in Michika local council of the state. 

Similarly, this medium reported that one Hafsat Sa’idu allegedly killed her 60-year-old husband, Mamman Sa’idu with the assistance of their children, Faisal Saidu and Fa’iza Saidu. This came a day after WikkiTimes reported how the premature death of children in Dumna village of Guyuk Local Government of the state led to the death of a 57-year-old Benson Timothy who was accused of witchcraft and executed by a group of four men.

Ten days later, WikkiTimes also reported that one Hassan Solomon and Uleri Shaba, both local hunters and residents of Madagali in the state, confessed to the police for the gruesome murder of a woman, Uzarai Musa and her son, Kladang, over witchcraft allegation.
